What is a social group? Does size matter? What are the relationships between two or more individuals who make up a family (one type of social group)? What is the function of the family? What is the nature of conflict in the family? What is the relationship of the family to society, particularly for youth? What is socialization? How do families make decisions? And how would each of the sociological paradigms not only see the family but view it as important, or not, in the study of society?
describe in full detail how each of the four major sociological paradigms would address the issues outlined. Obviously not all paradigms will have an equal fit with a given topic but you should explain why or why not by clearly communicating the basics of each paradigm.
