Assignment Directions
Once you have selected your specific topic, research information about that topic in professional source materials and academic records. Be sure to cite your sources, and check the Terms of Use for any clips you include in your presentation. Create a report on your topic that is compelling and interesting .Someone who knows nothing about your topic should be able to read it and feel informed. Use creativity and show your abilities in presentation multimedia, audio, visual, or interactive content.
Since this is an historical project, give the context of your topic. What was going on in the industry or the world at the time? What problem did your subject solve, or what sort of artistic statement did they make? Was it an innovation in the field? What techniques were being used? Where was your favorite media piece filmed, recorded or invented? Who was involved?
Do your research and outline your presentation to include an introduction and conclusion. These are good places to state your reasons for choosing the topic. What’s so compelling about it? Why does it mean something to you?
You may be limited in your project presentation by access to equipment or software, but do the best you can with what is available to you. Simple presentation formats include a PowerPoint presentation with embedded audio and video.
