You are to imagine that you are a technology consultant that has been contracted with Charm City Mortgage to assess the state of their current information systems infrastructure to suggest improvements. The plan must address the following questions:
Which components of Charm City Mortgage’s IT Infrastructure are most in need of enhancement? How would these changes help the organization to better execute on their key business drivers?
The President of Charm City Mortgage has asked you to determine whether or not they should purchase a customer relationship management (CRM) system. Describe the core components of a CRM system and how they be used within Charm City Mortgage? Make specific suggestions for how those core components would change the way their key business activities are performed?
How might Charm City Mortgage use their Internet Platform and/or Social Networking to market the company or keep contact with its customers? Do not just list the tools or define what the tools do, but provide specific examples of how the tools would be used.
Describe a reporting strategy that would help Charm City Mortgage monitor their key business drivers. You’ll need to decide whether or not to recommend a data warehouse, data mart or to use the transactional systems to perform the reporting/analysis. Which reporting systems might provide the most benefit (business intelligence systems, data mining, decision support systems, executive support systems or expert systems).
Given the current state of Charm City’s infrastructure and new business processes, describe how you would assess the current state of Charm City’s information systems security. Make specific suggestion for best practices that the company should implement.
Since an organization can not implement every recommendation all at once, your presentation needs to include a diagram, chart, or outline that describes how you would sequence your recommendations and provide some explanation about why you chose the sequencing you did.
You are to develop a plan that can either be presented in document form (8-10 pages) or in presentation format (10-15 slides, not including title). If you choose to use a presentation format, use the Notes page of each slide to write out what you would be saying /presenting when that slide is being shown.
Your plan should demonstrate an understanding of their business, the key productivity levers, and your recommendations should address those productivity levers. Your suggestions need to be specific. Try to avoid technical jargon and acronyms. I should be able to assess your understanding of the technology recommended by how you describe the benefits to the organization.
