Scenario
Algonquin Colleges Culinary programs have been awarded a special grant by the Ontario government to host a province-wide virtual conference for students. The event takes place virtually on December 19, 2020, and will see students and teachers from across Ontario showcase their skills and deliver talks and tutorials on the newest industry trends in a virtual setting.
Part of the grant has been earmarked for travel and accommodations for a special guest to come for a physically-distant tour of the colleges kitchens and labs to see the workspaces where students practice what they have learned in their courses. Following the tour, the special guest will deliver the virtual keynote address at the conference. There is no money available, however, to pay the special guest for their time or for being the keynote at the conference.
A vote was held and the results were unanimous: the students chose Canadian celebrity Gabrielle Berube as the special guest for this event.
Task
As the conference organizer, you must contact the speaker and persuade them to come and take a physically-distant tour, as well as to deliver the virtual keynote address at the conference.
Write a properly-formatted maximum one-page persuasive email using the lesson content from Week 3 to the special guest to convince them to come speak at this event. Remember to be sincere and to include the AIDRA components from the lesson. Remember to include your full name and contact information at the end of the message (you can make up this information).
