interest groups

This trip is to the land of interest groups. Everyone must choose a different group!!! Duplications will NOT be accepted. Post the name of your chosen group in the subjectline of your post.

1. Survey the course links widget to explore interest groups in America. Find a group that you are interested in and research the group’s political impact in this country. You may choose a group from the Instructor’s List, from chapter seven in the text or find one on your own. Any group not on the list or in chapter seven of the text must be PRE-APPROVED by the instructor. Write to me in icollege mail with your group’s name and a link to a website about the lsit for pre-approval. Describe the group’s history.

2. Read Chapter Seven in the text to understand the basic measures of the power and strength of interest groups. Use these guidelines to outline the power of your chosen interest group to analyze your group’s strength. Research the size, financial strength, leadership, and techniques of your interest group. What political impact has your group had in Washington? Be specific. Outline legislation and litigation that your group has been involved in.

3. Describe your interest in this group. Why did you choose this group to research? Would you recommend this group to others? Use facts from section two to support your arguments.
