Informative and Persuasive Speech Topic
Please identify the topic you will be working on for your informative speech.  Choose a topic based on a social problem from one of the many facing New York and New Yorkers.  I suggest that you use the same topic for the informative speech that you use for the persuasive to maximize your research and framing time and reduce your workload.  This is an exercise that will help you hone the useful problem solving and critical thinking skills required to transform an informative speech into a persuasive speech.  With that in mind please indicate whether or not you will be using the same topic for both the informative and persuasive speeches.  Finally,  post 2 initial references (at least one academic reference).

Just a note a caution:  it is important to give serious thought to your topic choice and that you try not to change it.  Both the informative and persuasive speeches require quite a lot of work.  It would be better to take this assigment seriously and to devote enough time to submit a final product that reflects logic, reasoning and good effort.
