You might use the following questions to guide your reading and note-taking for the essay you will write.

1. What incidents in the authors life are likely related, directly or indirectly, to her gender?

2. What incidents in the authors life are likely related, directly or indirectly, to her cultural and ethnic background?

3. Are there any experiences you can identify that are likely related to the intersection of the authors ethnic background and gender?
4. Are there any other systemic issues that may be related to the authors life experiences (e.g., SES, immigration status, etc.)? Do these intersect with the authors race and/or gender?

5. How are these experiences related to psychological outcomes, issues, or experiences in the authors life?
