Source A: In November 1095, Pope Urban delivered an inspiring speech calling on rich and poor to stop their in-fighting and go to fight a righteous war to help their fellow Christians in the East and take back Jerusalem. Urban criticized the Muslims, exaggerating stories of their anti-Christian acts, and promised that all who died in the service of Christ on this mission would have all their sins forgiven by God.
