Training and Technology or Big Brother is Watching

There is no question that technology has and will continue to shape training and development of employees.  Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Some employees complain that the organization by offering them training online has shifted the burden to the employees to devote their free time to completing training assignments.  What would your position be on this issue?  Would you expect employees to complete training on their own time?
