Successful Team-Based Working

What are the key elements that determine the success or failure of team-based activity?  Inform your discussion postings with examples of success and/or failure, and suggest and discuss what influenced the end result.  Discuss what went well, and what went less well.  How does theory related to team-based work engage with this?,

You need to ensure that you consider the theoretical implications of working in teams i.e. why do teams usually work better than individuals.  Given that virtual teams are very common these days, you may want to discuss how aspects of virtual teams and co-located teams differ.

Also, as discussants, you should be contributing your opinions as to how problematical issues in the examples of other team members could maybe have been resolved, and entering into constructive discussion of issues that you feel positively or negatively affected team performance.
