Read the two articles posted under “reading”

1. Eleanor Guralnick, “The Proportions of Kouroi” (1978)

2. Jane Carter and Laura Steinberg, “Kouroi and Statistics” (2010)

you do not have to do a fine-comb reading, but try to understand the main arguments and important points about how the study is conducted and what their results are. Summarize the main points of these two articles (#2 is a re-examination of #1 and its findings). Offer your critical opinion about whether you think there is merit to this sort of study, and your own assessment about the issue.

The length of this exercise should be not much more than 1 page (double space: 350-400 words please do not exceed 500 words) 

Completion grade for reasonable effort: proper understanding of the material and respectably expressed essay.
