Questions for A Year in White

Each answer will be worth 3 points. One point each for:

Relevance/Pertinence (Address the question.)

Grammar and Punctuation (No typos. Proof-read!)

Depth of Analysis (Say something original. Go beyond surface descriptions and summaries. Advance our knowledge on the topic.)

Each answer will consist of a minimum 100 words. So, all three questions can be answered in about a page and a quarter, double spaced.

Wednesday: Chapter 3 (Iyawo Rules pgs 67-101), Conclusion (Two [or More] Worlds pgs. 161-172). Response to be uploaded to Gauchospace by 3:30 PM.       

Discuss the significance of the following three ideas:

Reasons for Iyaworaje: What reasons do initiates give for their initiation into Lucum?

Seclusion: What are the physical and metaphorical implications of the seclusion involved in initiation?

Insider/Outsider status: Why is the author asked : Are you or are you not? Who is a member?
