Hello, some of you have talked with me about your Final Paper topics, I’m excited to hear your ideas. Please read the following, as you prepare your Topic Proposal to turn in on our last scheduled day of class this week.

Your Final Paper Topic Proposal ought to be comprised of:

Prose paragraph (3 or 4 starting sentences, at least)

Stating which film or television texts you have selected to write about and analyze

Articulating what is the main topic or concern that you want to explore ~ from which you will formulate a Thesis Statement, and for which you will design a case study (close analysis of texts/scenes/performances)

At this point, what do you think you will argue about which story-telling forms/genres or venues are effective for Asian American subjectivity and why? (Remember that later in the writing process, you will consider the question: How can we challenge and change systems of representation?)

Please keep developing your topic and your ideas, catch up on readings, re-view visual material ~ and enjoy working on this paper!
