For this week’s discussion, select three examples from Wild Swans that illustrate how Communism affected the personal relationships and the traditional roles of mother and daughter, husband and wife, or daughter-in-law and mother-in-law. How would you describe these changes — were they effective in liberating women from their past roles? Was there a price to pay for these changes for women — and men?
