create a Career Preparation Portfolio that includes revised assignments, research, and career planning. This assignment is to help assist you in planning your career trajectory and prepare you for the job market. It should include the following components:

Explore handshake and other job search resources and find two job descriptions for relevant positions that you would be interested in. This can be a job that you might aspire to have, or one that you maybe qualify for already. Maybe this is an analyst position in a corporation, a government economist position, or another type of job. Please copy the entire job posting in the document, and include a brief rationale (2-3 sentences) for why it was selected.

You will adapt a second version of your resume for one of these jobs. Often you will have to adapt and translate your qualifications for other types of jobs. This is an incredibly important skill to develop. Be sure to label and identify your intended purpose for this resume. This includes what job description it is for.

From the two job descriptions you selected above, identify two skills for each that you would like to develop to strengthen your resume and meet your career goals. You should briefly touch on how you might acquire this skill. These should only be one paragraph/skill, and not to exceed one page for both combined.

You will include an prep sheet for either of the job descriptions you selected in step 2. You will likely apply and interview for a variety of jobs in your career. This exercise aims at getting you more comfortable preparing for these opportunities. Again, be sure to label which job description the prepsheet is intended.
