1. What are some of the subtle ways that racism is manifested in the workplace?
2. With the holidays quickly approaching, most companies put on a party for their employees. However, according to an article that I read online, a large majority of these parties are focused on Christmas, even though ten of millions of employees dont celebrate Christmas. Do you think that employers are accommodating to all races and consider their holiday practices when they plan the party? Or from personal experience, have you found that most employers focus solely on hosting a Christmas themed party?
3. I have applied for several promotions within the 3 years I’ve been at my company. Two positions were supervisors and although I made it through the first few steps, I never got a promotion. Since then I’ve applied for other leadership roles with less responsibility but I am still being stonewalled. Nearly all feedback I have been given was that I ‘lacked experience’ which basically translated that I was too young to have that much authority. How do I overcome this stigma of being ‘too young to be in charge’?
