Macbeth Creative Assignment

A creative written task demonstrates the students ability to choose an imaginative way of exploring an aspect of the material studied in the course. It must show a critical engagement with an aspect of a text or a topic and should demonstrate attention to the Time and Space (AOE) in which the text was written, the period within which the story takes place, and/or the period in which the reader engages with the text.

It should be 800-1,000 words in length plus a rationale of 200-300 words.

This is a creative writing/media task in which you demonstrate mastery of course material by commenting on it, elaborating on it, or challenging it; however, you will do this indirectly. For instance, rather than write an essay explaining how Macbeth is the product of feminine manipulation, you might create a tyrant’s manifesto to illustrate how one can successfully (?) run a kingdom; an interview with King James and his views of monarchial power; a “Globe review” of the first performance of Macbeth in the 17th century,  a news report from a character in the play on the unnatural happenings at work in Scotland.

Written tasks should show rather than tell how language plays an important role in a topic or text you are studying.

Title
Should be creative, but must also accurately reflect what the topic is about. Eg. Mother, Wife, Career Woman and MaidWhat is a Womans Work?

Guidelines
1. The task must demonstrate student learning in response to and connected to the text.
2. The task should attend carefully to the period of writing and/or of reception. Try to use the AOE: Time and Space questions ( I attached to the materials) to help ask deeper questions about what you are learning.

You first need to select a text type;
