There is no word count requirement for this journal; just answer the questions as thoroughly as you can.:

What are some examples of rhetoric you hear on a daily basis?
What are some ways that you create rhetoric? What kinds of messages are you trying to communicate?
Re-watch the speech you will be analyzing in your rhetorical analysis essay. Then, identify one rhetorical strategy you plan on analyzing in your essay. Transcribe at least one quote from the speech that is evidence of this rhetorical strategy. Then, analyze this strategy. Your analysis should explain how the evidence is an example of a particular rhetorical strategy (this is an example of ____ because). You should also explore why the strategy is used, how it helps the speaker reach their audience, and how it helps the speaker achieve their purpose.
