In the essay, you should a) articulate the background and identify the central environmental ethics issue(s) at stake, b) address arguments for and against various viewpoints, and c) defend a thesis regarding the ethical controversy. To do this, you will need to marshal relevant empirical evidence in favor of the view, consider germane ethical viewpoints, and develop your own reasoning to support your thesis as well as other conclusions you draw.
