Your short story must be a minimum of 1,250 words or about four (double-spaced) pages. Your short story cannot go over 2,000 words.
    The assignment must be typed using 12-point font, and it should be using proper one-inch margins (top, left, right, and bottom).
    Your short story must have at least one main character.
    Your story must have a clear setting (time, place, and social conditions).
    Your story should have a clear plot (exposition, inciting incident, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution).
    Your story must include effective dialogue.
    Your story must include at least one type of conflict.
    Your story must make clear use of one of the following narrative techniques: flashback, foreshadowing, or suspense.
