Initial Post

We have examined a lot of the current and future applications of AI. There are several areas that are particularly prone to concerns about the ethical implications for AI, these include warfare, robotics, criminal justice, health care, and the workforce. These are areas where AI is going to be causing major disruptions to our lives. For this discussion, you will be choosing one of these topic areas to explore for both the positive and negative potentials.

First: Select one of these topics:

    Warfare
    Robotics
    Criminal justice
    Health care
    Workforce

Next: Go to the EC Library Resource Guide for NS110 and this module. https://libguides.excelsior.edu/NS110 (Links to an external site.)

There you will find a collection of resources that you can use to begin researching the pros and cons of your topic. You can also use the resources provided in the module, both required and optional readings. You are encouraged to also do your own research using the EC Library or Google Scholar to locate reliable, objective sources.

Post: Your initial post should fully address each of these points about your chosen topic:

Clearly articulate how AI is being used now and in the future for your chosen topic.
Discuss what are the positive aspects of applying AI to your topic.
Discuss the negative aspects to be considered when applying AI to this topic.
Summarize your views on how our society should address the concerns raised by the application of AI in your topic, and what you think the future holds for the use of AI in our society.

Your initial post responding to this assignment should be a podcast of no less than 2 minutes and no longer than 3 minutes. The podcast should provide a professional level of audio that covers the 4 points listed above.

For your audio presentation, keep in mind the following:

The audio presentation should be less than two minutes long. If youd prefer to create a video presentation, this is acceptable as well.
Along with the audio, you need to includea written transcriptof your presentation. This can be copy/pasted into the body of your discussion board post.
You should also include a list of any references used in your post and audio presentation, using APA format.
If you are unable to create the audio please contact your instructor for alternative arrangements.

For tips on creating an audio presentation and uploading it to the Canvas discussion board, use these resources: recording and adding mediaPreview the document to a Canvas discussion board and reducing echo for an audio filePreview the document.

Be sure to read the feedback on your own major postings and reply to it throughout the module.
