Type Your Title Here (Suggestion Teaching Philosophy)
Before you begin to write your philosophy reflect on the following questions: 1) What is the ultimate purpose of education, 2) What is worth knowing, 3) What is the role of students in the teaching and learning process, 4) What is the role of teachers in the teaching and learning process.
Begin typing your introduction here.  Your introduction will be about 1 to 2 paragraphs.  Remember to indent your paragraphs and to make sure that your paragraphs contain 5 to 6 complete sentences.  According to MLA, one paragraph is 5 to 6 sentences. Please adhere to this format.
    Begin typing your body here.  In the body you will identify which of the following 5 educational philosophies (i.e., Perennialism, Essentialism, Progressivism, Social Recontructionism, or Existentialism) best align with your beliefs about teaching and learning and why (see pages 234- 235, lecture slides, and watch video clip in D2L). Do not forget to identify explicitly the educational philosophy that best matches or aligns with your beliefs about teaching and learning. For example, if you believe that testing students is the best way to determine if they have acquired knowledge and skills, you will most likely write about perennialism.  Make sure you define what perennialism is and why your beliefs are more perennialistic.  NOTE: If you copy the definition in your textbook or from another source, you will need to give the authors proper credit. If not, this will be considered plagiarism. Use MLA format to cite your sources.  You do not have to have a works cited page, but please site any sources you use.  This section will be about 2 to 3 paragraphs.
    Begin typing your conclusion here.  In your conclusion, you need to integrate a quote that represents or sums up your educational philosophy. Dont forget to put the quote in quotation marks and to cite the author in parenthesis directly after the quote.  Many, many, many quotes about teaching and learning can be found through Google and Pinterest.  This section will be about 1 to 2 paragraphs.
