HW: For the entire play, identify and label by line numbers (use the un-bracketed lineation) the structural segments including: prologue, parode, episodes and stasimon, and exode.
In Class: be ready to consider the rules and expectations of classical tragedy and how they fit in this play. Also be ready to consider how altering aspects of the production (costuming, set, music, lighting, etc.) might affect how you perceive the play.
Writing thing: introduction paragraphs
In class, well also use your homework as a place to start working on outlines for example essay exams. The examples will focus on genre and structure, while the exam will cover a wider range and include both short stories and drama (so far). We will save the last few minutes of class to go over any questions you might have concerning the study guide and the prompts.
