One of the Nursing Organization that I would like to be involve in is the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center). The ANCC is an organization whose goals is to promote excellence in nursing and health care globally through the use of credential programs. ANCC is also involved in a prestigious award and credentials of the Magnet Recognition program given to hospital that holds up to the high standards and practice in healthcare. Application of ANCC Magnet program and Pathways to success program have shown improvements in clinical outcome such as reduced hospital acquired infection and sepsis length of stay in some hospital considerably. (Lewis, 2019) The ANCC is an independent branch of the American Nursing Association. (American Nurses Association, 2020) They are ISO 9001 certified, and help provide credential for many areas of nursing such as APRNs.

National League for Nursing have over 40,000 individuals and 1,200 institutional members. NLN focus is on nursing education programs that range from the higher educations, health care organizations, and healthcare agencies. NLN mission is to promote excellence in nursing education in order to establish a strong and diverse nursing work force that will in help advance the health of our nation and the global community. NLN offers three types of memberships from individuals, School of Nursing, and Associates with an annual fee that differs depending on what choices you choose and what category you fall under. (NLN, 2020)

Another organization that I would like to join also is Academy of medical-surgical nurses. This organization is dedicated to the practice of medical-surgical nursing. Their mission is to promote excellence in medical-surgical nursing. Their focus is in workplace advocacy, evidence based practice, professional development, and leadership. (Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses, 2020) Their community consist of more than 11, 500 individuals. They offer credentials that you can obtain through certified programs and tests for medical-surgical nurses. To join this organization and application is filled out and payment for the organization annual fee differs due to different category that you may fall under.

All the organization have a common thing in that they choose to excel and promote excellence in their respected fields of practice in order to provide patients the best care they can possibly receive. These organizations will help my worldviews in helping treat patients with kindness and to the best of my ability. My goal as a nurse is to ensure top quality education and care to patients and to ensure that my fellow nurses are well educated in their nursing practice as well. The organization I intend to be a part of goals align with mine and will help me become a better overall nurse.
